About Us
CallingDucks.com was created by a fanatical group of waterfowl hunters who felt their 'online' brothers and sisters deserved a bit more than what they were being offered on the Net. The Internet may be
the information super-highway, but scrounging for detailed information related to waterfowl hunting is like driving down a one-lane dirt road! It is out there, but finding what you need, when you need it, can be a chore. Our mission is to bring it together for you, organize it so that you can find it, hang on to it so that you can find it later, and present it to you in a way that it can actually be useful. The bottom line of what we are all "about" is information.

Our initial launch in May of 2005 solidified us as THE source for anything and everything related to the art and science of calling waterfowl. We accomplished this by collecting detailed information on the topic and offering it up as organized and polished content for our users. Often we put our own twist on things, and even did what might not be considered normal. The result was unanimous! We’ve been lauded by individuals, publications, and the industry in general for our coverage and features.
Now we have re-launched the site and our mission is to apply this same technique to anything and everything that is waterfowl hunting. We have decided to trust our users when it comes to the content that a waterfowl hunter wants to see. We have made our system of databases more generic and have introduced a new social networking foundation in order to allow them to enter the information that they care about. We have removed the barriers between our users and the companies and professionals that represent the major players in the waterfowl hunting industry. We have provided tools that allow our users to provide input and feedback on the topics that matter the most to them.
Our system now centers on the following topics and the content for them is driven directly by our users:
USERS – The most important thing on our site, the reason we exist. Users are the people who frequent our web site, both registered and unregistered. They know what questions to ask, have the answers, and know what is interesting. All you need to do to become one is visit the site. If you want to register so that you can add your own input, it is free and simple. The benefits of membership are many!
COMPANIES – The businesses that our users spend their hard-earned waterfowl hunting dollars with. These include decoy manufacturers, apparel companies, cal makers, and guide services, whatever. If you know of a company that is not in our system, you can enter it. Our database of companies is not limited to those that advertise because we’ll list and display anyone that our users need to know about.
PRODUCTS – The goods and services offered by the companies in our system.
NEWS – The latest from trusted news sources on the web with information on the birds, the laws, the politics, or anything else a waterfowl hunter needs to know about it. Our registered users have the ability to identify these news items for the benefit of others.
EVENTS – Any event that any of our users might care about. Whether the event is a hunting exposition, waterfowl festival, calling contest, duck blind drawing, local banquet for a conservation group, or even just a work party on the blind. It doesn’t matter. If it has a scheduled date and even a few of our users need to know about it, we have a place for it, and our users can put it on the calendar.
INDIVIDUALS – The people who own or represent the companies listed in our system, and other notable people within the industry. This list is built based on information that our staff collects, information that event organizers provide, or information directly from the companies in our system.
It’s all about the information. Top to bottom, sometimes with a different twist, but we’ll always be ABOUT the information!
